In collaboration with FASadE, the center for architecture, urbanism and landscape, Kunsthal KAdE is organizing an Architecture Café on Wednesday evening, March 9. An evening where important themes appropriate to the exhibition at Kunsthal KAdE will be discussed. Guest speakers of this evening are LOLA Landscape Architects and Prof. Dr. Sanda Lenzholzer. They will show us vistas of the landscape and the city. What are bottlenecks in designing for urban climate?
For the main auditorium of Kunsthal KAdE designed LOLA a street garden that literally bursts out of the paving stones. With this garden, the design firm explores the way nature, as an unstoppable force, reclaims the city. Peter Veenstra and Brigitta van Weeren talk about the installation and the vision they share for designing to the city and landscape.
Sanda Lenzholzer is professor of landscape architecture at Wageningen University and author of the book: ' The weather in the city. How design determines urban climate'. Lenzholzer argues for an integrated approach to climate-related design decisions.
