Kunsthal KAdE will host the exhibition: One Way Ticket to Mars from September 2019. Especially to accompany this exhibition, we are organizing the lecture series: How do I survive... Mars? In three lectures you will discover together with experts whether it is possible to make the journey to Mars. How unruly are the conditions of the newly discovered planet? Is living on Mars a terrifying idea or just a tantalizing one? Why do people actually want to go to Mars and is it life or "survival" on this planet?
How do I survive ... Mars at all?
Mars is a fascinating planet and really the only place in the Solar System with a reasonable chance that humans could settle there. But this will certainly not be without danger. Mars' atmosphere is very thin and has no oxygen. Mars also has too small a magnetic field to deflect radiation and particles from space. This lecture delves into the past, present and future of Mars exploration. Was there ever life on Mars? Is there still life on Mars? And when will the first humans be on Mars? All questions to which you will seek the answer with space expert Erik Laan.
