Film program the Lieve Vrouw

As part of the Tell Me Your Story exhibition, de Lieve Vrouw is screening three films during the month of March that tie in with the theme of the exhibition at Kunsthal KAdE. 

12 Years A Slave by Steve McQueen is an impressive American historical drama based on the autobiography of African-American Solomon Northup. Northup is a free African American who lives and works in upstate New York with his wife and children. All goes well until he is lured away under false pretenses. Before he knows it, he is caught and in the hands of slave traders. 

This 2013 film won no less than three Oscars, including the one for Best Picture.
