In the Elbow Church, the colorful installation Heaven's Hotline by American queer artist Nina Chanel Abney on view. With large canvases, neon lights and sculptures, she fills the church with her signature style full of vibrant forms and current themes. Faith also plays a role in her work: Abney often references religious symbolism and stories, which she reimagines in a contemporary, sometimes playful way.
During a special activity, a gospel choir will come to sing amidst this art installation. The combination of Abney's powerful imagery and Black gospel music creates a special and atmospheric experience. An experience you won't want to miss!
