Journaling Workshop

In this workshop, we will look at the diaries of artist Sadik Kwaish Alfraji and be inspired. The artist begins many works of art by drawing and writing in a diary. In this diary he enters into a conversation with his subject, so to speak, and while writing and drawing, the concept of the work of art to be created and the form to go with it becomes clearer and clearer. 

For several years Merel Hoekstra has been collecting diaries and stuffing them with paintings, drawings, receipts, tickets and much more. She does this to capture her memories on paper in a visual way. No more endlessly scrolling through the gallery on your phone, just flipping through a little book. That sounds much more fun, right? Journaling literally translated means "writing in your journal. But it can be done in all sorts of creative ways! There are endless options to explore your creativity.

In this journal workshop Merel will tell you all about journaling, the possibilities and supplies. With her tips & tricks you will learn how to start and maintain your own visual journal.
