Artist Hans Op de Beeck sees the world as a proverbial stage, with man full of blunders as tragicomic scenographer. With his gigantic installations, sculptures, videos, drawings and texts, Op de Beeck offers moments of reflection, stillness and solace in this complex world.
Above all, Op de Beeck wants to stimulate the viewer's senses and invite them to truly experience the image. He seeks to create an immersive form of visual fiction that provides a moment of wonder, stillness and introspection.
Recently, in addition to his visual art, Hans Op de Beeck has begun writing and directing theater and opera.
During this lecture, the artist will talk at length about his art practice.
