Together with the Art Brewery, Kunsthal KAdE is organizing a fun day out during spring break.
A tour of artist Folkert de Jong's Ministry of Fear/Foam exhibition at Kunsthal KAdE followed by a workshop with artist Gemma Oosterhof at the Scholen in de Kunst studio in the Eemhuis.
De Jong creates life-size works of art from very special material: Styrofoam and polyurethane foam. It is a material normally used in construction, architecture and set design. During the guided tour you will learn to look at art in a whole new way, and you can get inspiration for the rest of the day.
After visiting Kunsthal KAdE, you will learn from Gemma Oosterhof how to make your own unique animated film inspired by the work of Folkert de Jong. It will be a combination of inventing a story, tinkering with different materials and recording lots of footage. Fun and educational!
When: Wednesday, March 1
Time: 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Age: 10+
Location: Eemhuis
Costs: 22.50 incl. lunch
Are you curious about the exhibition at Kunsthal KAdE and would you like to work with animation yourself? Then sign up!
Good to know: some children may find the exhibition exciting. But the most common reaction is, "Wow!"
