Walking Indian Traces in Amersfoort

29.08.2025

Walk along in search of Indian traces in Amersfoort!

Walk

The book launch of the Indonesian comic book The treasure of Flor de la Mar took place in Amersfoort, but there are also Indian tracks in Amersfoort! Especially for this volume in the Indonesian comic series The legend of Bat Fighter historian Tom van der Geugten and his daughter Jolien put together a walking tour, and they came to some extraordinary discoveries. Walk with them through the center of Amersfoort in search of Indian traces.

Elleboogkerk

During this edition of the walk, you will also get a short tour of the Elleboog Church, where an installation by the Indonesian collective GEGERBOYO is currently on display. Full of references to the colonial past, which then makes you look at history in a different way.

Practical

This hike is suitable for adults, takes about 2 -2.5 hours and is up to 3.5 km with some breaks with onions.
Date: friday, august 29
Start time: 10 hours
Location: Amersfoort (gather at the Koppelpoort)
Costs: €27,50*

*The amount you pay for the walk will benefit the publishing of volume 4 of the comic series. If you are unable to pay these costs and are interested, please contact us at jolienvandergeugten@wysonderzoek.nl.
