The Elbowkerk is a new exhibition space located in the former Elleboogkerk at Langegracht 36 in Amersfoort. Over the coming years, visitors will be able to view and experience large-scale installations by artists from the Netherlands and abroad. “In De Elleboog” is an initiative of Amersfoort in C (Kunsthal KAdE, Museum Flehite, Mondriaanhuis, and Architectuurcentrum FASadE) and is made possible by the municipality of Amersfoort.

In 2024, the new interactive exhibit ‘The Silent Reflection‘by artist Hans Op de Beeck is on display.”.

Hans Op de Beeck has made several of these over the past twenty years in a wide variety of locations. Each time they involve the creation of an enigmatic place with an architectural and landscape dimension, inviting the viewer to find silence and a timeless moment of reflection and calm.

For the De Elleboogkerk location, this was a winter water landscape with a horizon. Op de Beeck: “Water not only reflects in a literal sense, but figuratively stimulates reflection, reflective, contemplative thinking about being and the world."

What visitors thought of the interactive installation at The Elleboog Church? This is some of the responses:

'Beautifully beautiful and especially sensitive. You can look at it for a while. Wow!'

'Surprising and so beautifully still yet agile.'

'Breath taking'

'Beautiful silence in a far too loud yardd.'

'Somewhere else entirely.'

You can The Elleboog Church visits at Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Langegracht 36. This installation could be visited separately from the exhibition ‘4 National Collections & Hans Op de Beeck' at Kunsthal KAdE.
