Discover, listen, and join in!
During the May break (April 29 through May 3), there’s plenty to do at Kunsthal KAdE for children and families. Be inspired by the exhibition Stairway to...? and join in on activities full of discovery, stories, and creativity.
On Wednesday, April 29, the day begins with the Stairway Tour – Family Edition (1:00 – 2:00 p.m.). Together with the Amersfoort Guides, you’ll go on a discovery tour through the city center. From secret attics to old cellars: everywhere you go, you’ll come across stairs and ladders, each with its own story.
Later that afternoon, there will be a festive storytime afternoon (3:00 – 4:15 p.m.), organized in collaboration with the Eemland Library. Children ages 4 through 8 and their parents and grandparents will enjoy a picture book, a guided tour of the exhibition, and a creative workshop.
On Sunday, May 3, children can go out on their own during the Children’s Tour: ‘No Parents Allowed’ (11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.). Together with a museum docent, they explore the artworks and the significance of stairs and ladders.
In addition, there is the KAdEStudio, a dedicated area in the exhibition where visitors can get hands-on. Here, you’ll discover everything about stairs and ladders: build your own ladder or staircase, test a steep or ‘gentle’ staircase, and reflect on the social ladder. The studio, designed based on ideas from the children’s panel, offers space to play, learn, and create—and is suitable for all ages!
Come visit during the May break and experience Kunsthal KAdE with the whole family!
