Special Award

Special Arts hooks up with new exhibition Sleep! and asked exhibition maker Judith van Meeuwen and educators Tess Bonouvrié and Dieuwertje Sjoerds to create an online selection from the theme of "sleep" on Special Arts' platform.

In the artists' submitted works we see day and night, the security of a blanket over you. Resting with eyes closed, but also images that may appear in your dreams (or indeed nightmares). In the exhibition Sleep!, on display at Kunsthal KAdE from August 24, there is less focus on surrealism, so in this selection we have specially chosen to give surrealist works a place as well. After compiling this online exhibition, we dream on for a while, what do you dream about?
