Stairway Tours

Discover Amersfoort from top to bottom

For this exhibition, Kunsthal KAdE is collaborating with the Amersfoort Guides to organize a special series of city walks: the Stairway Tours. Inspired by the exhibition Stairway to…?, in which forty artists explore the symbolic meaning of stairs and ladders, visitors head into the city center for a journey of discovery filled with stories.

Because Amersfoort, too, is full of stairs and ladders. During the tour, you’ll explore hidden spots and surprising details: from attics to basements and from quay walls to distinctive stepped gables. Along the way, the guides will tell you about the history, functions, and significance of these places for the city and its residents.

The Stairway Tours come in two versions: an in-depth walking tour lasting about an hour and a half for adults, and a fun, shorter version lasting about an hour, designed especially for families with children ages 6 to 12.

Practical information
The tours start in front of the entrance to Kunsthal KAdE (Eemplein 77). Each guide can lead a group of up to 25 participants.

• Adult Tour: April 19 and May 3 at 1:00 p.m.
• Family Tour: April 29 at 1:00 p.m.
