Tell your story. About your hero. Beyoncé, Mondrian, or just your father.
From the end of September you can see an impressive exhibition about the artist Jacob Lawrence at Kunsthal KAdE. And especially for it, we are organizing STORY AWARDS: a story contest for young people aged 10 to 24.
Who was Jacob Lawrence?
Jacob Lawrence was an African-American artist and a true storyteller. He used his art to show the world how important stories are - about where you come from, what you believe in, and who inspires you.
And now it's your turn.
Because you have stories, too. About people who help others, are brave, who you admire and make a difference. Think about your mom, your soccer coach, your best friend, an artist like Banksy or an artist like Beyoncé. Maybe your hero is an (in)famous local resident or ... yourself.
Write, rap, tell, or make a video about your hero. Join the STORY AWARDS And give your hero a stage.
🎤 Theme: Your hero(s)
📅 Submit: of September 1 through November 20
🏆 Award ceremony: December 10 - With cool prizes!

STORY AWARDS for PO, VO & MBO
Enter your class or school in the STORY AWARDS! The competition is for young people between the ages of 10 and 24. Do you teach upper elementary, secondary or vocational school? Write and share your story about the heroes in your community with us. As a school (class) you can participate in an exhibition visit and workshop. Students will work on creating their own story during the workshop. For more information, also about the start of the contest, visit the Kunsthal KAdE website.
