Documentary ´Man on Wire´

In August 1974, France's Philippe Petit walked on a tightrope between the Twin Towers for 45 minutes without a safety net. With interviews, trick shots, original footage and beautiful music, James Marsh reconstructs the extraordinary story.

Afraid, Philippe Petit is not; '"If I die, what a beautiful death, to die in the exercise of your passion." Frankly, his team recounts this emotional moment in their lives and how they broke into the Twin Towers. As they watched Philippe balancing on the tightrope, the police were already ready to arrest him. The film has a 7.8 on IMDb and is now being screened once only at De Lieve Vrouw, especially because of the exhibition on balance and equilibrium at Kunsthal KAdE. A unique opportunity in other words. Judith van Meeuwen, curator of the exhibition A Balancing Act, in addition, gives a brief introduction to the documentary.
