Trustee Henk van den Bosch won with his plan for Up Amersfoort Amersfoort municipality's Open Call. Participating artists were asked to come up with artworks that are enigmatic and wondrous; art that requires looking up. The Up Amersfoort art route will be on view from June 18 through September 11.
At various points along the route, the artists realize a contemporary artistic intervention. The public goes on a journey of discovery and is enticed and surprised. The route also includes existing artworks in the outdoor space of the municipality of Amersfoort. This creates a walk that seeks the connection between nature and culture, contemporary artworks and the historical context.
Participating artists
Alphons ter Avest, Gerbrand Burger, André Groothuizen, Anne ten Ham, Tom Putman, Marijke Schurink, Tanja Smeets, Anna Skubisz and Willeke van Ravenhorst.
More information about the artworks can be found along the route via QR codes at the artworks and on the website: www.up-amersfoort.nl.
