Kunsthal KAdE will host the exhibition: One Way Ticket to Mars from September 2019. Especially to accompany this exhibition, we are organizing the lecture series: How do I survive... Mars? In three lectures you will discover together with experts whether it is possible to make the journey to Mars. How unruly are the conditions of the newly discovered planet? Is living on Mars a terrifying idea or just a tantalizing one? Why do people actually want to go to Mars and is it life or "survival" on this planet?

How do I survive ... living on Mars?
Living on Mars is a dream for many people. But is it actually such a good idea? Many things that are taken for granted on Earth, such as breathing and eating, are gigantic challenges on Mars. On the other hand, people on Mars can gather a lot of new scientific knowledge. In this lecture, Mars expert Arjen Boosman of Utrecht University explains: why people are eager to go to Mars, why it is that conditions and climate on Mars are so different from those on Earth, and why life on Mars will be so incredibly hard for Earthly life.
