As part of the children's panel, ten kids help us make Amersfoort museums even more fun! They do so in a variety of ways. For the exhibition Sleep! they chose their favorite work of art and wrote their own museum text to accompany it. The pleasant afternoon started with a writing workshop, because how do you write a good text about a work of art?
Since there are already hanging room texts talking about the artworks and artists, the approach became a review. The children therefore asked themselves the following questions: What appeals to you about the artwork? Does something strike you about the work? What would you like to point out to visitors? Would you like to take the work home with you?
Reasons for choosing a particular artwork included: because you get to touch the artwork, it is a colorful work, the work looks cool or because it captures the imagination tremendously.
The texts will soon be on display in the exhibition Sleep! and hang near the artworks chosen by the children's panelists. They also recorded their own texts; you can listen to them via a QR code.
