Tours
Teaching Materials
Lessons are developed especially for secondary schools. You can find Kunsthal KAdE on LessonUp with preparation lessons for the digiboard. These lessons will help your students warm up for the visit.
Independent visit with art pointers
It is possible to have your students visit the exhibition independently (and on their own). For each exhibition we develop art guides: a booklet with questions and assignments that help students get started looking at the works of art, giving them meaning and forming an opinion about them. The art guide takes about 40 minutes to complete. If your students are coming on their own, please let us know during which period we can expect them. Then we will make sure that there are art pointers and pencils ready.
Special programs and workshop offerings
KAdE behind the scenes
In addition to our tours and preparation classes, we developed the teaching program especially for secondary schools: KAdE behind the scenes. Pupils get a look behind the scenes at Kunsthal KAdE.
What is involved in creating an exhibition? Is an art hall different from a museum? And who are the people behind an exhibition and what do they do? These questions and many others will be answered in this interactive workshop. At school, students first watch the film KAdE behind the scenes. After this preparation in class, the students will go to the Kunsthal themselves. Together with a museum teacher, they will investigate how the new exhibition is put together. Afterwards, they create their own exhibition in class.
Your art | My story
Annually, in collaboration with NEOS Cultural Education, we offer Your art I My story for secondary school groups to accompany exhibitions at Kunsthal KAdE. Previously this was the program Art Poems, now in a new format! In the project Your art | My story, students respond with spoken word to a work of art from KAdE's exhibition. Students transform their own text into a powerful performance and are guided by young professionals.
