Fall break at KAdE

Come experience autumn at Kunsthal KAdE!

art, storytelling and creation for all

The autumn vacations are here, and at Kunsthal KAdE in Amersfoort, an inspiring and diverse program is waiting, perfect for families, friends or solo visitors. This fall season, you can experience art, stories and creative workshops that tie in with the current exhibition Jacob Lawrence: African American Modernist. This exhibition forms the basis for the activities: Lawrence's powerful paintings, drawings and prints tell stories about identity, migration and hope, as well as inviting self-reflection and making.

During this period, for example, you can join our entry-level tours: every Sunday at 11:00 a.m., a museum docent will take you through the exhibition, providing background information and special details that will enrich your visit.

On Wednesday Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. We are hosting a reading afternoon in partnership with Eemland Library for children ages 4-8 with a guided tour and a creative mini-workshop where children can imagine their own story inspired by Lawrence's art.

For all musical Amersfoorters, you can friday, october 24 Come listen to Kemal, MAZIS and tjels at the KAdEcafé during Popronde!

For younger visitors, there is on Saturday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. an interactive children's tour playfully titled "Forbidden for Parents," in which children (ages 6 and up) will engage in their own viewing and experience.

Retrieved from Saturday, November 1 the "Story in Pictures" workshop is scheduled. In this workshop you will work on transforming your story into images and experience how visual art and story reinforce each other.

Retrieved from Sunday, November 2 you can come to the intro at the Elbow Church and learn more about contemporary artist Nina Chanel Abney.

Or join the new edition of BROED on November 8 and get to work on creating your own story during a special workshop!

In addition, you can enter the STORY AWARDS: a story contest for young people ages 10 to 24. Under the theme Your hero(s) participants can write, rap, film or create visual work about someone who inspires them. The contest runs through Nov. 20.

Young people up to 24 years old have free admission to Kunsthal KAdE, ideal for an accessible and creative outing. Also combine your visit with a stop at the KAdE Café or take a look at the KAdEStudio where you can further experiment yourself.

In short: from art viewing to active making, from listening to stories to getting started yourself, this fall break KAdE offers a rich mix. We hope to welcome you soon!
